Kool documentary. No doubt great drums. But, the 4-piece maple/gum shell pack with the silver sealer, no snare, no hardware, is $4360 at SW right now. Ouch!

There have been so many great rock drummer and jazz drummers, etc...we all know the names. But he is right there in the conversation for one of the best.

Had been playing since High School in the school band and orchestra and then in all kinds of bands. After graduation from university, I was😊pursuaded by my drum teacher to turn in my leedy and ludwig mixture for a new 1963 gretsch bop set of 5/12/14/20 which I got in red sparkle. Still play them in swing/dixie/concert bands to this day. Love them. Only downside is the snare. Steve Maxwell says they can be boxy in sound. Very poor response so I use either a superphonic or a 6.5 Black Beauty especially for the rolls I need for concert work. Still may look for a Gretsch COB vintage snare though.

I want gretsch to make this set... Catalina maple. Sizes, 8dia,7deep. 10dia,7deep. 12dia,9deep 13dia,10deep. 14dia,11deep rack, and 14x14 floor. 16x16 floor. 18x18 floor 22dia,18deep bass 22dia,18deep bass Typical Catalina snare I want them available in deep cherry burst, and walnut glaze. This is a set i would buy.

Incredible! I'm confused by the bd pedal set up. Looks he has a typical double bass pedal with left slave going to the right bd but then also a single pedal with offset beaters on the left bd. Am I seeing this wrong?
